Microsofts one-play DVD (via Slashdot)
Microsoft invents a ‘one-play only’ DVD to combat Hollywood piracy

COMPUTER software giant Microsoft has developed a cheap, disposable pre-recorded DVD disc that consumers can play only once.
Bill Gates: Because getting paid for something once is just unfair to a millionaire. Maybe it will help combat video piracy, but somehow I think that if you can play it then people will find a way to record it and somewhere in China they'll churn out a hundred thousand copies or so. And the only people affected are the US consumers who have to pay again and again...so thanks Bill.
This is probably a hoax or some new urban myth, again via Slashdot.
