New Orleans flees as Katrina approaches Gulf Coast
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Winds whipped downtown New Orleans and blasts of thunder were heard early Monday as a monstrous Hurricane Katrina charged toward the low-lying city with 150-mph winds and the threat of a catastrophic storm surge, prompting residents to flee in bumper-to-bumper traffic or huddle in the Superdome for safety.
Maybe it's too soon for jokes, but how soon until there's a 'Katrina and the Waves' reference here?

The McCurtain Daily Gazette has obtained a copy of U.S. Rep. Dan Rohrabacher's tersely worded letter to FBI Director Robert Mueller, asking him to comply with a federal judge's order directing the Oklahoma City FBI office to provide records regarding their investigation at Elohim City and the Mid-west bank robbery gang.
Obviously the net is stuffed to the gills with odd conspiracy theories, but the OKC Committee has one of the more logical and well researched positions that question an official story. If you're interested, check out the Oklahoma Bombing Investigation Committee site http://www.okcbombing.org/ or their book "Final Report on the Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Building". The Committee is spearheaded by Oklahoma State Representative Charles Key, not some shut in nerd like the person writing this blog.

7 STATES RESIST PATRIOT ACT

Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Montana, and Vermont have all passed Bill of Rights Defense Resolutions, basically stating that our Constitution and Bill of Rights take precedence over the "Patriot" Act; and 324 cities (including NYC and Philly), towns, and counties have passed similar resolutions. I gathered signatures for a petition and helped to get our Schuyler County (NY) Legislature to pass one 2 yrs ago.

This kind of thing wasn't happening when Hitler and crew were wrapping up Germany.

I would have thought "Live free or die" New Hampshire would be in the list, but regardless it's good to see everyone hasn't lost their minds.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- A New York state assemblyman is launching an inquiry into the state-run water playground that may have spread more than 2,000 cases of gastrointestinal illnesses.
"All visitors to New York State Parks should be confident that they will have a healthy and safe experience," State Assemblyman Joseph Morelle said in a statement.
The number of reported gastrointestinal illnesses possibly spread by the water playground at Seneca Lake Park has grown to 2,202 cases across 24 counties in western and central New York as of Monday.
